Her passion for writing,

Nostalgia for her home country, Nigeria and the desire to promote Africa's diversified culture and tradition led her to start blogging. Her mission is to connect Nigerians in diaspora with the "Motherland" Nigeria by providing stories about what Nigerians are doing at home and abroad. The acronym MON - her name- means Marilyn Ojehonmon Nwene. M for Marilyn, O for Ojehonmon (her maiden name) and N for Nwene, her husband's last name.

She named the blog MON because in Africa, your name is everything and your maiden name is like a "calling card" to trace your background and folks. Mon's Media is not only a positive outlet to celebrate the achievements of women around the world, it also serves as a medium for current events in the U.S. and the Other World.
