HIV Positive Preacher Slept With Flock

An Alabama church is claiming that its longtime pastor revealed that he is HIV-positive and that he knowingly slept with female members of the parish.

On Sunday, September 14, Reverend Juan McFarland broke the news to the members of Shiloh Missionary Baptist Church in Montgomery that he had full-blown AIDS and that he has 'intentinally' had numerous sexual encounters with some of the female congregants of the Ministry.

According to The Daily Beast, Mcfarland has served the church for over 20 years. In 2003, he was diagnosed with HIV, but he kept it secret all these while until "God who told him it was time to confess his sins to his church."

Nathan Williams Jr., an 80-year-old member of Shiloh and onetime chairman of the church’s deacon board, some of McFarland’s sexual encounters happened on the church’s property, but never in the sanctuary.

“Like that made any difference,” said Williams in an interview.

On October 5, the church’s deacon board made that difficult decision and voted unanimously to remove McFarland as pastor.

However, some members of the church believe that the decision was unfair, giving the fact that the Preacher openly confessed to the church. In fact, the feud became big enough that the Montgomery Police Department was reportedly called in, though no official police report was filed.

The funniest part of the story is that, Mcfarland and some of his supporters are fighting back. He has reportedly changed the locks on the church, forcing Williams and other church leaders to seek legal counsel.

Okay let me stop here. Is this guy out of his mind? Does he know how many women he may have expose to HIV? What a selfish man. Here is someone who needs to be behind bars, but because he is a preacher, the society is allowing him to get away with it. Isn't this what Lindenwood Student (Michael 'Tiger' Johnson) did and was charged for recklessly risking infection of another when infected with HIV?

Tell me, is this not a demonstration of double standard?
