Her faith, courage and strength were unshaken throughout every obstacle she encountered. Although our family is suffering with this great loss, we find comfort in the closeness Joanne shared with the Lord. We know her spirit still shines and will continue to live on in heaven.

In 2008, Borgella entered for the American Idol contest and made it to the top 24. Three years later, she featured in a reality TV series called 'Mo'Nique's Fat Chance' and won its contest to find the ideal plus-sized model.
Life after being on these two major television shows, opened bigger doors to the singer. She did several professional modeling and even launched her own clothing line.
Last year, while very ill, she did a video for her fans, announcing that she was diagnosed with a rare cancer that had already spread to her chest. She continued sharing the details about her treatment on her Facebook page.
A promising life that was cut so short. May her soul rest in peace. Amen.
