Legendary Fashion Designer Oscar De Le Renta Dies At 82
Dominican born fashion designer, Oscar de le Renta has died. He died on Monday at his home in Kent, Conn. He was 82.
Though the cause of his death wasn't immediately clear, in 2006 he was diagnose with cancer. The news of his death was announced by his wife Annette de la Renta. The cause of his death has been linked to complications from the cancer.
Often described as the "sultan of suave" -- he dressed every first lady since Jacqueline Kennedy. Other influential women he has dress includes: Oprah Winfrey, Ann Hathaway and, most recently, George Clooney's bride Amal Alamuddin.
Born in Santo Domingo, he was trained by Cristóbal Balenciaga and Antonio del Castillo, his main idea was all about making women look and feel their very best.
