Breaking News From Nollywood: Popular Nigerian Actor Muna Obiekwe is dead

Popular Nigerian actor Muna Obiekwe has died. Nollywood and fans of the controversial actor are seriously mourning his sudden death. According to reports, Obiekwe passed away today, January 8, about 4:15 p.m. in a hospital in Festac town after struggling with kidney disease.

Unconfirmed sources said Muna who was in some financial difficulties was asked by his friends to go public - about his health condition in order - to raise some funds for his treatment, but he refused. Instead, he planned to a stage play. Sadly he died earlier than he had thought -before he could even work on the project.

Though, there has been confusion about the authenticity news of his death, after some twitter handle @MunaObiekwe allegedly denied his death.

“WTF! How can someone joke with an issue of death, pls o everyone I’m alive and well by His grace..Don’t know where they got it from,” he wrote.

People should mind what they post as stories, sound the alarm and tell others that I, Muna Obiekwe is alive and well.”

The actor's family members and fellow Nollywood colleagues have taken to their twitter accounts to confirm the news of Muna's death.

Oh Muna! That voice is still in my head. I loved his voice. May his soul rest in peace. Very sad.
