Nigerians Hold Solidarity March To Support Troop Fighting Boko Haram


Channel TV - Dozens of Nigerians on Saturday marched round the nation’s capital, Abuja, to show solidarity for the Nigerian and Multi National Forces fighting the Boko Haram insurgents in the north-east.

The march was organized by Support Our Troops Foundation with hopes that it would boost the morale of the soldiers.

The foundation said that were motivated especially by recent success reports of reclaimed territories by the troops in the heightened counter-terrorism offensive launched against the insurgents.

Funmi Ogbue, the founder of the group, stated that the support was not just for the Nigerian troops, but also a show of solidarity for the multinational troops battling the insurgents from their boarders.

On Saturday, thousands of Cameroonians also marched in Yaounde to protest against Boko Haram uprising and to show support for their army who alongside with the Nigerian soldiers and other neighboring countries, are fighting the Islamic sect.

The spokesman for the Nigerian Army, Chris Olukolade, who was also at the event, expressed his gratitude to all who participated in the march, promising that “never again will reclaimed territories fall to the insurgents.”

The troops have accoplished remarkable successes in the last one week, reclaiming over ten communities from the insurgents.
