Britain Votes to Leave The European Union
The United Kingdom has voted to leave the European Union. This new development has caused a mixture of jubilation and tearful disbelief in the UK as people awoke to the final result from Thursday's extremely close vote, which deeply divided the nation.
The Prime Minister David Cameron who had urged the country to vote Remain was defeated by 52% to 48% despite London, Scotland and Northern Ireland backing staying in. Forcing the PM to resign stating that the country needs "fresh leadership."
According to President Obama: "the people has spoke, the UK relationship with the EU will change, one thing that will not change is the special relationship that exist between the two nations. The EU will remain one of our indispensable patterns."
