'The Sound of Music' Actress Charmian Carr Dies at 73
Actress Charmian Carr popularly known as Liesl in the movie The Sound of Music passed away on Saturday. She was 73 years old.
The news of her death was announced via her website and by the Rodgers & Hammerstein Organization. She died of complications from a rare form of dementia, her family said.
The Carr's impeccable performance as the oldest daughter of Von Trapp in The Sound of Music brought her a big break in her career. She also sang one of the movie's classic songs, "Sixteen Going on Seventeen." Her charm, big bright eyes, beautiful smile and innocence made her the fans favorite.
