French Montana Donates $100k to People of Uganda
Fresh Montana has the got internet buzzing after the release of his Unforgettable music video in which he featured Swae Lee of Rae Sremmurd. The video was shot in East Africa, Uganda with popular Ugandan dance group, Triplets Ghetto Kids showing their high energy dance moves.
Moved by the way of life in the country and seeing how happy the people were with the little they have, the Moroco-born artist donated $100, 000 to Mama Hope organization - an organization that supports global entrepreneurship to help end extreme poverty.
The rapper said he could resonate with the children because he knew what it felt to be poor and still find some way to be happy. He went on to create the "Unforgettable Dance Challenge" to help raise funds that would go towards building a Suubi Health Center, as well as fund local blood banks in Uganda.
Top stars such as Swizz Beatz, P.Diddy, Drake, DJ Khaled have all shown interest in the challenge posting videos of themselves doing the viral dance moves shown in the visual.
"I feel like sometimes God puts you in a platform where you’re supposed to help other people. I wanted to give them the shirt off my back and help as soon as possible. … With having gone through living in poverty and being happy with nothing, they channel that through their dance moves and their energy,” said Montana in an interview.
Unforgettable already has 29,200,250 views on YouTube since it was published on April 13th, 2017.
