2017 Ankara Festival LA And Davido's Performance
The 2017 Ankara Festival Los Angeles (AFLA) was held at the Belasco Theater in Los Angeles on Saturday, September 2nd. This year's event was the biggest ever in the history of AFLA probably because there was a hint that Davido was going to participating in the festival as well.

African designers who showcased this year, were not scared to impress the audience with strong colors and asymmetrical designs . The beautiful models were not scared to break a leg either - they did a great job, carrying the clothes like they owned them. A couple of of artists also performed at the event. It was a non-stop entertainment except for a 12 minute break that allowed people to get more comfortable while they looked around too see what Vendors displayed.

Peter Lentini: Creator and director of AFLA giving Vote of Thanks
Peter Letini creator and director of AFLA decided to step up his game this year by bringing in Nigeria's biggest artist, performer and record producer Davido to perform at the Festival. Though many people showed up at the Fashion Show at The Belasco Theater hoping to see the singer as well, but the organizer's decided at the last minute to move Davido's performance to the AFLA After Party at the Union - also located in Los Angeles.

The Pros and Cons of changing the location of Davido's performance:
Pros - The good thing about changing the venue was that it made it possible for a lot of people who were not aware that Davido would be performing to get informed and show up to see one of Africa's favorite artists. Several people said they learned about the show while at work, so they had to drive down to the event as fast as they could.
Cons: For those who lived outside of LA, or who came to see the show with kids or seniors, they had to drive back home to drop off their loved ones and probably couldn't embark on the long drive again to see Davido. Some people had to hang around in LA while others who wore African attires to the Fashion Show as the theme of AFLA wished they could drive back home to change into something more comfortable for a night concert - especially after learning that it was going to be a long night.
The Union was over capacity all with fans of Davido
The After Party was slated for 10:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. It started with performance by other artists while more people arrived at the Venue. The music was good, the people were happy, drinking and dancing but the crowd started getting weary at about 12:00 a.m. and demanded Davido showed up.
At about 1:20 a.m., Davido walked into the stage singing one of his fans fave songs Dami Duro. The forgiving crowd was ecstatic to see him and immediately everyone had their cell phones/cameras up, singing, dancing, taking pictures and recording the live performance of O.B.O as he is fondly called.

Despite the long wait to have a glimpse of the superstar and the fact that O.B.O did not get to sing his chat topping hit song If, the After Party was worth coming out for. It was a good experience for all because the mission of AFLA is also to encourage people support one another and help talents achieve their biggest dreams.
