Actor Idris Elba Tests Positive For Coronavirus
Hollywood actor Idris Elba announced on Monday via his twitter account that he has tested positive for COVID-19 and currently self-quarantining.
In the video below, the one-time sexiest man alive talks about the virus outbreak and gives a realistic sense of the need to be cautious.
“This morning I tested positive for Covid 19,” he wrote. “I feel ok, I have no symptoms so far but have been isolated since I found out about my possible exposure to the virus.” He said.
Being the latest celebrity to test positive for coronavirus, Elba, 47, urges the public to practice social distancing and hand washing for now.
He added "I got tested because I realized I was exposed to someone who also tested positive," he explained. "I found out last Friday that they were tested positive. I quarantined myself and got a test immediately and got the results back today."
He also promised to update his followers on how he is doing. Though his wife, Sabrina lives with him, he said she has not been tested for the virus yet.
"Transparency is probably the best thing for this right now. If you're feeling ill or you feel like you should be tested or you've been exposed -- do something about it. It's really important," said the 47 year old actor.
Thanks to Idris Elba, Tom Hanks, Rita Wilson and everyone who has come out to let the public know that they have been infected. At least, we are taking it more seriously now to stay safe.
Our thoughts and prayers go out to everyone with the virus.
